Hunsader Farms

This grower uses synthetic fertilizers and/or pesticides.

The Hunsader Farms of today got its start in 1967 when three Hunsader brothers and their families left their second generation Wisconsin dairy farm to try their hand at growing vegetables in the sunny south. The brothers cleared the land by hand and planted their first crop of 80 acres of tomatoes in the Spring of 1968. The operation prospered and grew, and in 1990 it was handed down to their sons who gave it the name Hunsader Farms.
Through the past six years, we have added many events and activites in effort to share with the community a little piece of our farming heritage. In 1991 we built a petting zoo and started a new educational field trip program. In 1992 we kicked off two new events; the Pumpkin Festival and Country Christmas. In 1995 we spent the summer building a playground and new picnic area for families, and in 1996 we hosted our first Spring Festival and Civil War Battle Reenactment.
For the summer of 1997 we are adding a feed store, which carries Purina feed, tack, and veternarian supplies. We also added restrooms and a new party barn. The party barn is for businesses or organizations that want to hold their company picnics on the farm.
We hope you enjoy your time with us, and that we can help you catch a glimpse of days past when life was a little slower, a little sweeter, and a lot simpler.
