Market Information:
Jones Potato Farm: Allan Jones’ operation isn’t just potatoes. They now have available traditional Green Beans and Wax Beans. They also have a large garden area available and are taking suggestions on what you would like to have available. Think of what you would like a good supply of for spring. Drop me a note and I will pass it along to him. By the way, his potatoes will start coming available in February.
Hunsader Farms:Corn is ending very soon. Please call me on availability. Acorn, Spaghetti, and Butternut squashes are still available, but supply has dropped to good to fair. 5×6 Tomatoes are available in fair supply. Grape and Cherry Tomatoes are in good supply. On occasion they have had great peppers available, such as peach habaneros and Tobago Seasoning Peppers. They’re usually only have a pound available. If you’re interested in something like this, let me know and I call you when they show up. Eggplant remains in good supply.

Mitchell’s Natural Produce: Baby Pac Choy (Maroon leaf Bok Choy) made it’s debut last week and it looks great! And the people who bought it have raved on it. Miss Margie is able to grow 50 head at a time, so supplies will be fair to good each week. Miss Margie is a delight to work with, and very soon I will get her out of the greenhouses to meet you. Coming soon, Butter head lettuce and Asian spinach
King Farm: Heirloom Tomatoes are coming! Ben has picked a few of the early ones, and they look great! Some may be available at the end of this week. Please call me and I will see what I can get. Reggae Radishes are looking great and will be available til mid December. These mildly spicy red gems are a great addition to any salad. Cilantro is coming out great and is in good to fair supply. The smell of fresh-cut cilantro is intoxicating; if you use cilantro you should give these a try. Red, Yellow and White stemmed Swiss Chard is available and in good supply. Heirloom Cucumbers supplies have dropped from good to fair. Get ‘em while they last! Multi-colored Carrots are taking their sweet time and I am estimating a mid January start on harvest.

Eggplant (5): Late Nov.
Cantaloupe: Mid Oct.
Honeydew: Late Nov.
Charente’s (French melon): Dec.
Banana Melon: Late Nov.
Okra (2): Mid Nov.
Carrots: Late Nov.
Pole Beans: Mid Nov.
Tomatillo: Late Nov.
Cucumber: Mid Oct.
Flatford Swamp Farm: Cantaloupes are available in good supply. Onions look to become available in around Thanksgiving. Seedless Watermelons are available and in good supply.
Hi Hat Ranch: Fallglo Tangerines, Rio Red and Flame Grapefruit are being harvested and supply is excellent. The flavors are excellent also, think of what you’ve had in the past and multiply it by 2. These are a great example of why fresh-picked is the way to go By January, Murcott Tangerines and Satsuma will also be available.
My Mothers’ Garden: Seasonal Herbs are available. Their list normally reaches me on Monday.
Palmetto Creek Farms: Hogs were delivered for processing on Monday and delivery will be Wednesday. The next delivery to the processing plant in Wauchula will be the week of December 1.
Because of seasonality, very few products will be available year round.
